My visit of The Valley dates from End of November 2019, when they faced Cardiff City in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
Unfortunately only this week Charlton ended 22nd in The Championship which means they will regulate to the League One next season. During my visit they were still at a safe spot in the first half of the ranking. Also on the non-sportive side there was the good news that the club was taken over by new owners and they’re now finally released of the controversial Roland Duchatelet. How things have changed in a couple of months.
About the stadium, this is a 27,111 capacity seater located in the Charlton neighborhood in South-East London. The stadium was built in 1919 and was renovated in 1991. In the 80s’-90’s the stadium was even closed for a long time (1985-1992) which meant that they had to leave their home stadium for almost 7 years.
